Dentistry today is changing not only in the way we treat our patients, but also in the way we diagnose, plan treatments, and make clinical decisions. That is why, in the period ahead, we will be introducing another technology into our practice that will allow us to achieve more precise and comprehensive diagnostics – 3D X-ray (CBCT).

More than just a conventional X-ray

Conventional 2D X-rays are an essential part of dental diagnostics. But sometimes, we need something more. CBCT provides a three-dimensional view of anatomical structures, giving us a much clearer understanding of the relationship between the teeth, bone, roots, and surrounding anatomical structures. This can be particularly important when planning more complex treatments and surgical procedures.

Why 3D X-ray in a dental practice?

One of the greatest advantages of CBCT technology is its practicality. The scan can be performed within the dental practice, without the patient having to be unnecessarily referred to another location for additional diagnostic imaging. This means a simpler process for the patient, faster access to the necessary information, and the possibility of detailed treatment planning – all in one place. And when it comes to implantology and oral surgery, three-dimensional diagnostics can be especially valuable.

Planning begins before the treatment itself

Good treatment does not begin with the first incision or the placement of an implant.It begins with a good plan. A 3D scan allows us to better assess the anatomical conditions and plan treatment according to each patient’s individual situation. In this way, technology does not replace our expertise. Instead, it gives us more information on which to base the right clinical decision.

When we invest in new technology, what matters most to us is not simply that it is modern, but that it is useful. That it has a real application in everyday practice.
